A UI Bug in Gmail’s New Look

Gmail's new look bug

Google seems to be definitely working to unify the feel-and-look of its products to cope with its brand new social service Google+. Even though I’m against the black-colored nav bar at the top of their home page, but the new look definitely gives the feeling that you are on a social network website.

So today while I’m trying out the new Gmail’s look, I found a UI bug! The page loading bar is covering the web clip of Gmail. Of course the issue won’t appear the if the browser is done loading the page, but sometimes it never does (I guess because it’s always doing some async calls with their web services)! So the web clip will always be covered during your browsing session, which’s absolutely annoying. Besides, I’m pretty sure the advertisers won’t be so happy about it ;)

I really hope a googler discovers the issue and tries to fix it.

This is not a UI bug. This is just how the browser status bar is in Chrome. The site UI has nothing to do with this bar you see down there. This bar will appear at that point for any site you visit with chrome.

Thank you for your comment! I totally agree with you, it seems I was not very successful in describing the issue as I wanted. My point really was that it’s looks ironic that no Googler faced that issue yet and tried to fix either Chrome’s loading bar UI or Gmail’s UI. It seems some Googlers aren’t using their own browsers ;)
