Don’t you think this is crazy?

I have just finished reading some parts from my AI textbook (AI a modern approach) and it’s 3:00 am. I don’t know but I just imagined some crazy ideas and wanted to share one of them. I don’t know if this is because of being too sleepy or being full of AI info ;)

My idea is that I imagined how we deal now with second life project (from Sun). You control a virtual person in a virtual life. But imagine that Internet were invented in that virtual life, do you understand what I mean? Imagine that a virtual life has a virtual Internet, and then just start to imagine how the web technology will start to develop there. Imagine a virtual Facebook that your person uses to interact with other virtual person. Or even imagine if we could add AI to these virtual people so that after a while can behave autonomously, so then see how virtual people can interact with each other using the virtual Facebook or a virtual Youtube or twitter. Also imagine that these people after being autonomous will develop their web autonomously.

But what’s crazier is to imagine that these virtual people invent a virtual second life for them, so that they can control other virtual-virtual people!!!

Don’t you think (this is)/(I’m) crazy?

I don’t know if I became crazy or too sleeeeeeepy ZzZzZzZz!

    When I woke up today and read my post, I was really proud :)

    I think this craziness was caused by my AI textbook. This book and AI in general needs a lot of concentration.

    At the end I think I wrote a piece of art!

    I discussed this post with some CE and CS geeks and some of them gave these comments:

    “How do you know we’re not the first virtual world in your scenario?”

    “That would be cool. Its kinda like the universe of Ghost in the Shell manga. I think facebook, myspace, and other social networking sites would be like vitrual hangouts and clubs. You could litteraly get into World of Warcraft. Man imagen the possiblities!”

    I just added two extra dimensions which is the ability of artificial
    agents to use and develop their own web and then of course the crazy

    Your thoughts are totally normal and not crazy. Check Steven Spielberg’s movie AI and you will understand what can AI do to our life combined with virtual environments.
    Your idea about 2nd order and 3rd and more order of virtuality is interesting and expresses a great imagination.

    There is a movie actually about what you are saying. Its name escapes my mind for the moment. A detective working on a case where a professor who died leaves clues inside a virtual realm. The professor was part of creating this virtual realm that you can access using a cyber helmet. What happens is that a character from the virtual realm gets out of the virtual realm to the detective world by taking over the mind of his operator. And at the end of the movie it turns out that the detective world is also a virtual realm to another world. And if I remember correctly the detective goes from his world to the “real world” and takes over the mind of his operator.

    If I remember the name or come across it in imdb I will send you the name.

    The the idea of the movie is also wonderful, I hope you can remember the name and post it here.

    Actually I’m surprised a little bit, because I believe no body understood the important idea that I presented here about Second Life or some people just don’t know Second Life. I’m pretty sure that this idea will be the next big hit on Second Life. I think this might be in the next two years because Second Life is still not so popular. But common imagine all web companies create virtual websites for the virtual people in Second Life. As I said a virtual social network for the virtual people to contact!

    I believe introducing/inventing a virtual web on Second Life will lead to a whole new industry.

    what if one of these virtual persons imagin an virtual person on there virtual internet and so on it’ll be crazy
    but in scince there is still no clear idea to give the machine the ability to think by it self
    so even it’s hard idea to be done now but even though it’ll be fun to interact with virtual people that is not controlod by human

    there is a cartoon show who have the same idea name “mega man x”
